I'm looking to shoot portrait photography, and wondered if there was a difference between saying that the quality of a EVOLT E300 and the Canon 5D MK2 in ideal lighting situations. I've been a helper and always said to get the best, but then I wondered if in a portrait situation, and with a flash, if I could get as nice of an image. Sounds like you bought it through one of the 'low priced' on-line retailers. They offer the best price on the body, then sell you a load of overpriced Accessories to make up the difference. Usually- the deal in the end is fair... but only if you really Wanted all of those things. And- in most cases, you don't get the 'best' accessories. For instance- instead of the regular (cheap- but not terrible) Canon kit lens, you got two Sigma Lenses. Now- Sigma does make some Good lenses- but these aren't their best. And- to get to a decent 28mm (in 35mm effective) Wide Angle, you'll need to use that wide angle converter they sold you. A cheap converter on a mediocre lens is certainly going to cost you a bit of image quality- and, it's bulkier.
Depending on where you bought it- they probably wouldn't have sold you the camera UNLESS you bought all the cheap, overpriced accessories.
