In essence, the sequencer is the platform you will use to make your own beats on; from laying down your patterns to creating the foundation of your track. Two of the more popular loop-based software sequencers out there that hip-hop beat makers may use are Propellerhead’s Reason and Image-Line’s FL Studio (previously known as Fruityloops). This free online guide will focus on using FL Studio. FL Studio comes in three different flavors: the Producer Edition, the Fruity Edition, and the Express Edition. The Producer Edition is more of a pattern-based Digital Audio Workstation (or DAW) in the sense that it’s more than just a sequencer, but a “do-it-all” program and can be the standalone, centerpiece of your entire studio. Shooting outdoors in available light is fun, that works well with compact Digital Cameras. But have you ever tried shooting in poorly lit rooms indoors, and using the flash to light the people? If you have, you may have noticed something strange happens with the subject's eyes, which appear bright red in many snapshots. The 'demonic look "of their Friends and family can make your photographs appear ruined.
But wait! Do not trash your pictures yet! You did not go digital for no reason and one of the benefits of digital photography provides unlike the film is the ease of fixing minor issues like this. Not everything is lost, and this effect can be easily corrected if you have the right tools.
You might wonder why the red eyes, and what causes it? This effect is officially called common red eye, and is a known phenomenon in the world of photography. This happens because the flash is too fast for the eyes someone to close the pupil. The light emitted by the flash bounces off the back of the eye surface and makes the subject's eyes appear to be bright red in the shot. The red-eye effect is especially pronounced in boys and in people with gray or blue eyes.
Professional photographers fight red-eye by using dedicated flash units and heavier than the light bounce off the ceiling or walls. With a compact digital camera that is simply not possible. After all, it does not make any sense to carry around a flash that is twice as big and heavy as your camera!
Modern cameras are equipped with the red-eye reduction modes to fire the flash several times to allow students to close, but the fact that this technology is not even remotely effective in small snapshot-Type cameras. You are generally much better to use a dedicated software on your computer to correct red-eye images.

So you want to get into hip-hop/rap/R&B production and you don’t really know how? Well, it’s way easier than you may think. With just a few items, you could be well on your way to being the next Timbaland, Dre, or Alchemist.
So where do you start? First off, you need to make sure you have the right software. A lot of people out there like to sample beats and use other people’s music, but you want to be Original. At least in the beginning, because if you are like I was, you probably want to develop your own style. Here is my list of the essential start-up software you need to make beats:
Reason 4.0 – Propellerhead’s Reason is one of the most dynamic pieces of software you can have in your arsenal. It’s relatively inexpensive, yet it allows you to produce nearly any sound you can think of via a vast range of synths, drum machines, and effects. It is very user friendly, and produces a powerful, professional sound. Nearly every major producer has used Reason at one point in his or her career.
Fruity Loops Studio – Many producers use Fruity Loops to create entire productions. What really separates FL from Reason is that it has the ability to become a VST instrument when used with some mixing and recording programs such as Cubase or Pro-Tools. (These are the crème’ de la crème’ – but not necessities when you are just starting out)
Sony ACID Pro – This is a cool application that allows you to manipulate the beats you created in Reason or FL. It is user friendly as well and works Great on any system.
That’s pretty much it for making beats. My choice is Reason, but as you try them all out, you may find that you like FL Studio better or a combination of the two. Its all about finding what you are most comfortable with. Now, you have your software and have made a sick beat. Now what? The following is my recommendation for recording & mixing software:
Adobe Audition – This used to be called Cool Edit Pro. It uses a very simple interface in which you are able to load your beat tracks and record your vocal tracks. This can also be great if you want to use live instruments in addition to your beats.
That’s really all you need for software. Something to make the music, and something to record it on. Now, you ask, what about hardware?
Samson CO1 Cardiod Condenser Microphone – This is a great studio mic. It runs about $70 and sounds great. Make sure to get a few cables, boom stand, and wind screen. (about $50) total.
Samson S 48v Phantom Power Supply – You will need this to power your mic. Since studio mics create their own power, the phantom power source is basically the device that harnesses that power and sends it through your mic.
Any MIDI capable keyboard – This is one of the tools you will use with Reason or Fruity Loops to make beats. MIDI will allow you to play the sound files on your keyboard, rather than on your computer. Make sure to also get a MIDI to USB cable so that you can attach it to your sound card.
M Audio Audiophile 2496 Interface – This is your awesome sound card. It runs less than a hundred bucks and allows you to hook up all your gear to your pc.

What are the effects of over shocking and chlorinating a pool?
My aunt bought a 12x36 pool. She seems to be over shocking and over chlorinating it. We bought both the shock and the chlorine in powder form, in rather large jugs. I can't remember the exact amount. She has gone through both of them in two weeks. She shocks and chlorinates the pool every day. And today we bought 10 Oz packets of powder shock, she used both of them today, without even mixing it with water first. So, it's no question IF she is over shocking and over chlorinating. But...She has atleast 6-10 small children swimming in the pool. I realize the chlorine makes it sanitary, but sometimes it's too much.
As long as the levels of free and total chlorine are lower than 10ppm then the kids are safe. This is the maximum limit of chlorine allowed in public pools here in the states.
However, just because it's safe doesn't mean it's ideal. If she is dumping that much chlorine in the water there is a problem... her chemistry maintenance.
Chlorine will burn off out of the water in one day of sunshine, but some pool chlorine products contain stabilizer to protect them against this UV degradation. If the chlorine she is adding has this then the levels will build until the chlorine is no longer effective in the pool.
If you can, please take a sample of water down to your local pool store to have it tested. Ask them to test for the following:
Total chlorine
Free chlorine
Combined chlorine
pH
Alkalinity
Hardness
Cyanuric acid
Total dissolved solids
Metals
Phosphates

Have an object with edges you want to isolate? This is one way to use the Background Eraser tool.
The Magic Eraser is often used to blast large areas that contain unwanted pixels. It certainly can be effective if you want to get fast results, but it is less than subtle. This works well when you want to eliminate big areas of color that you don't need. It is not always as useful when you are working with areas that are more intricate.
This is one of the reasons that Photoshop is so Great. This program provides the user with lots of selection tool choices. Each tool has its own options that can be
customized.
Now, there are some kinds of selection jobs that work better with the Background Eraser than with the actual Magic Eraser.
The Background Eraser is more versatile and gives you greater control Over some of the more difficult tasks. For instance, if you are selecting intricately shaped objects, the Background Eraser may be the tool for the job.
Let's say you want to isolate your image in your picture by removing the sky. The sky consists of edges that may prove difficult to work with. Remove the sky along with the detailed edges using the Background Eraser tool.
Some selection tools would not be able to handle the job because of the position of the crenulations and the arches of the towers. This makes it very tricky when you want to try to remove the sky that is hidden among all of that other stuff.
Here is the way that you can work with the Background Eraser tool to accomplish the above task. You can cut out the complex shapes easily using the Background Eraser. Now you may need to spend a little time fiddling with the options to get the most use of the tool when you are working on a complex project such as this one.
Begin by selecting the tool from the toolbox and in the options bar you will want to set the Sampling option to Once. Sample a section of the blue sky by clicking and the
background swatch icon will change color.
This lets you know the pixels that are headed for deletion. If you hold the mouse button down and spray the eraser's brush around the image you will be able to get rid of all the pixels of the same color.
Pixels of other colors will not be removed as you spray around the edge of the building. If you want the best results you can tweak the Tolerance setting.
